Generic advice is worse than no advice — it gives students false confidence in a direction that may not fit their actual situation. Every goAcorn assessment is built on the student’s actual transcript, their actual university’s resources, and the actual labor market they will enter. Not a composite. Not a template.
Evidence Over Reassurance
The most common failure of career advising is telling students what they want to hear rather than what the data shows. goAcorn is not in the business of reassurance. We are in the business of grounded, honest, research-backed analysis — even when the honest answer is uncomfortable.
Writing Over Conversation
A written assessment does not fade the way a conversation does. It can be re-read, shared with family, referenced months later, and used as an anchor in difficult conversations with parents or advisors. We chose the written format deliberately because it produces better outcomes for students than a live session that disappears the moment it ends.

I built GoAcorn as an email-first service for a specific reason: most students don’t need a recurring coaching relationship. They need one really good, data-grounded answer to the question keeping them up at night. A written response they can reference when they’re making the actual decision.
